How to Easy Tote

Feb 14, 2012 01:42 PM

I made a tote for my sewing course. It is made of handmade traditional fabric, which was woven in a loom at least 60 years ago. As you can realise this is an immortal, strong and firm fabric. It is called "alatzas"

Fabric A

I cut two pieces of fabric A 30x50 cm and two identical pieces of fabric B. I also cut two straps 1m x 12cm. Fabric A : Sew the bottom of the bag, right sides facing, and press the seam open. Then sew the sides and press seams open.

Fabric B

Do the same with fabric B.

Handles

Now, the straps. Fold them as we do with bias tape press them and sew. Sew very close to the edge on both sides of the handle. Sew handles to both sides of the bag.

Turn the fabric A right side out. Take fabric B bag and pull it on the top of the fabric bag A, wrong sides facing each other. Sew all around the top of the bag.

I also sew some felt flowers on it
